Our missionaries work in difficult environments. Their images have been disguised.

SARAH- Location: Central Asia

I first went to Central Asia in 2008.  In 2011, I went again, this time with prayer, financial support, and agreement among my home church, Nexus, and a mission agency in Central Asia. Now I have returned to the land I call “Home.”  In these few months I have felt the impact of all the supporting parties. I haven’t felt the loneliness that I experienced in 2008, and the Lord has healed the wounds of my first experience in Central Asia.

DAVIS- Location: Central Asia

Since I’ve arrived, I began to feel cultural shock and spiritual warfare. For example, a policeman asked whether I was a Muslim. I didn’t know how to answer this simple but difficult question. On another occasion, I was asked the same question by a bus driver and I told him frankly that I am not a Muslim.  He then started to ask me, "Where is your God?" I answered that my God is in my heart, and I asked him, "Where is your God?" He didn’t know how to answer me.  Now I understand why I’ve come.

DORCAS - Location: Central Asia

The doctors told us that my mother had only a week left to live. The minster and church in the village prayed for her and she was miraculously healed. Because of that, our whole family became Christians. Soon my brother and I were studying the Bible and were involved in the ministry. Whenever I heard about martyrs for Christ, I had an unexplainable feeling in my heart. Eventually, He called me to love and serve poor orphans and widows in a war-torn Islamic land.  I sincerely invite you to join me in this journey to complete the Great Commission.

TONY & JASMINE - Location: Persian Gulf

In the beginning we didn't understand why we went to P Island to study, but we chose to trust that it was God's plan. Looking back, we realize that all was in His Hands and Will. It was an invaluable experience before our subsequent journey to the Persian Gulf. On P Island, I acquired my cross-cultural and English skills, but I also gained valuable real-world experience and learned the importance of teamwork—being humble, committed, and accepting of others, so that I could become a peacemaker. All this became a foundation for our ministry.

MUPU & SUNNY -

“Again, there was no peace this Ramadan (Muslims’ month of fasting). So many suicide bombings happened in many cities, especially in mosques.  People have died in passion for their religion, but who could imagine that they have gone to heaven?  They need the Holy Spirit to open their eyes and hearts, so they can see and understand real salvation.”

SIMON & SALLY -

Simon and Sally are facing fear and difficulty in an environment full of turmoil.  Sally writes, “In August there was a Chinese family with a baby killed in their house.  Nobody knows who did it or why.  Another Chinese friend who purchased a new car had it burned by the local people before he could buy insurance.  In a third case, a two-month-old car owned by a Chinese was stolen…”  Please pray for them as they seek to bring Jesus’ Peace to a troubled nation!

NORMAN & LINDA -

This testimony comes from their 2011 prayer letter:
"Andy was born into a chaotic family.  His father was married to his aunt before leaving her and marrying his mother.  The new marriage produced Andy and one other child.  Andy had a bad relationship with his father, who often scolded and beat him, so that Andy didn’t want to live at home. The first time we met Andy was through his elder half-brother, who was a staff member in our young people’s factory.  He brought Andy to study with us. When Andy first came, he wouldn’t talk with the other kids, but often fought with them.  We used the Bible to instruct him:  we taught him what was right and wrong, taught him about life values, and introduced him to Jesus.  With God’s help, his heart slowly opened.  He learned to have quiet time with God and pray every day.  He began to speak with the other kids and play with them.  He has a very good singing voice, and everyone in the class likes him now.  He once shared with me that since the first time he came here, his life changed.  He said he has learned so much—not only knowledge; but more importantly, he now knows God…"
